Alex hails from Atlanta, GA, but now calls Sydney home. Building on studies in anthropology, he completed a Master of Design at the IIT Institute of Design in Chicago, where he became interested in the way that insights about people and culture can be used to reshape designed experiences big and small.

Alex has worked as a strategist, researcher, and experience designer for over 15 years, both in consulting at Second Road and internally as a Design Principal at AMP and Salesforce Ignite. Along the way he has also spent time as a design educator and coach with LUMA Institute and Salesforce.

Today, Alex is co-founder and Chief Experience Officer at myLot, where he and his team are building software to simplify regulatory experiences—starting with planning and zoning permits. It's a chance to bring everything he's learned about people, design, and complex systems to bear on making a genuinely frustrating part of public life work better for everyone.

When he's not working, Alex is most happy spending time with his wife and daughter, or out cycling, bushwalking, or taking pictures.
